|SevenSeas. Countless Voyages. One Mariner. These steel/aluminum, semicustom motoryachts are based on OYD's proven "Fast Displacement" round bilge, bulbous bow hull form. Our Mariners are among the most fuel efficient and enviromentially friendly motoryachts, leaving a small carbon footprint|

|The Overing Forward House Explorer's are based upon our rugged full displacement chine hull which provides substancial interior volume while displaying good seakeeping qualities and efficiency. Tank testing revealed cruising speeds up to 14 knots with 800 bhp engines on the 120 model. The parallel midbody enables these designs to be easily lengthened. These designs are available to be built at a shipyard of your choice or can be put out for bids at several renowned builders that we recommend.|

|The 120 Forward House Explorer is based on our rugged full displacement chine hull that provides substancal interior volume while still displaying good seakeeping qualities and efficiency. Tank testing revealed cruising speeds up to 14 knots with 800 bhp engines. The parallel midbody enables this design to be easily lengthened up to 132' LOA. This vessel is presently designed to ABS/MCA but can be classed to other bodies at the owner's option.
|These Classic Style Motoryachts are based on our "fast displacement" hull form. These vessels are promoted under our Mariner line and posses all of the same features and quality as the Mariner base models.. The parallel midbody enables these designs to be easily lengthened and modified. As with all of the Overing designs, each base design can be tailored to suit the exact needs of the client.s|

105 COMPOSITE MARINER
|The Mariner is available in either an all composite model or an all aluminum version. Equipped and outfitted as the other Mariner models, these new models offer the superior efficiency and seakeeping qualities of our "fast displacement" hull while offering a more modest 6' draft for operating in areas like the Bahamas.
All hulls are not created equally.
All too often basic hull forms will be recycled over and over rather than creating the optimum shape for each different type vessel. Time constraints, R & D costs and experience or lack thereof are generally the deterrents.
At OYD, we optimize the hull form for the intended purpose of the vessel. From displacement to planing, from hard chine to round bilge we have developed a vast design library of highly refined, proven hull forms over the past 20 years.
Our semidisplacement motor-yachts are based on our deep forefoot, hard chine, relatively shallow draft hulls with semi-tunnels. These vessels display excellent seakeeping while maintaining a modest draft, ideal for areas like the Bahamas.
Our Mariner Series and Chaperone support vessels are built on our "Fast Displacement" (FD) hull. These highly evolved bulbous bow, round bilge full displacement hulls easily exceed a speed/length rato 1.6 as compared to a more common 1.3 SLR. When operating at slower conventional displacement speeds, these hulls are real fuel mizers. Now on our third generation with over a decade of refinements, these are truly world class, go-anywhere vessels with extraodinary seakeeping and comfort.
Our full displacement, hard chine hulls offer a less costly option to base a motoryacht or explorer on. While lacking the superior performance of our FD hulls, this is a practical solution when initial build cost is the priority. This is a widely used type hull form throughout the industry.
Our soft chine, bulbous bow full displacement hull is a good comprimise between the hard chine displacement and the "Fast Displacement" hulls. These offer increased efficiency, seakeeping and comfort over the hard chine hull while still more economical to build than the FD.
