Antartica Forecast Update

Greetings,

“Underway and making way” as of 0900 GMT/Jan 26th.

It looks like we might find some sunshine further north but had to clear the snow off the anchor windlass to weigh anchor at 0530 LMT. Potter Cove, King George Island was a great bay for shelter but I imagine that the chance to see Cape Horn in a few days is a milestone that all are looking forward to.

Another first is that we’ll have covered more than 20,000 miles before we return to the Beagle Canal! We might have been shy on fresh produce for the last charter but we still have 43,109 litres in the tanks after operating non stop since leaving South America on 18 December 2010. Big Fish’s First Christmas - in Antarctica and as the Blues Brother quote goes...

Elwood Blues: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake Blues: Hit it!
We’re on the road again.
Best to all,
Winston
