BROKER REPORT: "ATLANTIS II" 210' RESEARCH VESSEL
INSPECTED IN JACKSONVILLE

210 Research Vessel Atlantis II for Sale
Type: Research Vessel Builder: Maryland Shipbuilding
Length: 210' (64m) Built: Mfg-1962
Location: Jacksonville, FLPrice: Please Inquire

I recently inspected ATLANTIS II, a 210’/64m research vessel in Jacksonville, Fl, originally put in service with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in 1962. I was surprised at her condition, very well maintained and having returned from a two week charter with Triton Submarines in the Bahamas. She has 32 cabins and enough capacity to stay offshore for 120 days!

ATLANTIS II was originally built to carry ALVIN the manned submersible that found the TITANTIC. Some of the cabins are unfinished but the rest of the vessel is finished to “scientific” standards. The Pettitbone crane lifted a 17,000 pound sub recently, without strain. ATLANTIS II was originally equipped with steam power and was later converted to Detroit Diesels with low hours. There is a fully equipped dive room with dive suits to support 26 divers at one time with 55 air tanks/26 regulators.

Alvin

ATLANTIS II is a very large and stout vessel that is generally ready to go and in unusually good shape. The owner is ready to deal!
