While planning this conversion, the owner wanted a comfortable vessel capable of Pacific crossings, a vessel that could handle very rough weather, with the range & capabilities to refuel in ports with low fuel costs. The owners have just currently (October 2005) re-fueled in Venezuela at less than 40 cents per gallon.
While maintaining the rugged seaworthy exterior appearance of her roots, Tara's interior accommodations are equal to some of today's finest luxury motor yachts. Capable of any offshore voyage, she offers over 12,000 mile range at an economical 12 gallons per hour.
“Tara” is unique in any harbor; she is the ideal Expedition Vessel for the remote & secluded cruising destinations of the world.
