I inspected the PRIVATE LIVES, the 120' 2003 RMK Explorer yacht at the Miami Boat Show and spend a good bit of time speaking with the Captain.
Before I give my impressions, let me say that the Captain loves the boat. He has done over 30,000 miles in her and would be happy to take her around the world.
PRIVATE LIVES just finished her 5 year Lloyds inspection and he reports her ready to go. She does need cosmetic work, exterior paint being the biggest thing, updating of the interior and just upgrading here and there. She will be getting a new updated communications package this month.
Main Salon
Over all the boat is in good condition and with her recent price reduction she is a very good value. The engine room has had a good deal of cosmetic work besides the work for the 5 year inspection and this is on going. There is still paint and clean up to be done.
Master Stateroom
PRIVATE LIVES has a layout with all of the guest and owner on the main and upper deck. The master is huge and the over size windows give it great space and light. The four guest staterooms are one deck up and all have large widows and two have direct access to the main lounging deck.
Galley
She has a great galley, large well equipped and well thought out and plenty of fridge, freezer and dry storage space for world cruising.
She carries two large tenders and other toys and a lot of fish have been landed in her cockpit which also makes diving very easy.
Cockpit
Over all this is a solid Explorer yacht with special features only found in a few others.
