Dear All,
I have just returned from the Monaco Yacht Show where I had the opportunity to inspect Andrea, the 126’ Delta Marine Explorer Yacht built in 2003, VAT Paid.

If you do not know the age of the vessel, when you look through her you would believe she was built in the last 5 or 6 years. The only area that shows any age is her paint which could be polished with the new glass polish system and the life extended another 2 or 3 years, or be repainted.

The rest of the vessel from the outside furnishings, interior fittings, galley, engine room and bilge spaces are all in very good condition.

This 126’ design is not like a lot of the other Delta 120 series which are based on a semi-displacement hull form. Andrea’s design leads directly back to what made Delta famous, their offshore, North Sea fishing boats design, a full displacement design created to work in the North Sea fishing grounds. Andrea’s 9’11 draft and 27’11” beam create excellent stability in all sea conditions together with a huge amount of interior volume. She is a 126’ vessel with 456 Gross Tons of volume. This is the type of volume you usually find in a 150’ to 160’ vessel. Being a 126’ Explorer Yacht with this level of volume gives you a number of advantages over a 150’ to 160’ vessel. You have reduced cost for dockage, reduced crew and crew costs, better accessibility to harbors and slips and overall lower operating costs, all while enjoying the features that this volume provides.

All of the guest staterooms in Andrea are large and comfortable. There is excellent space between and around beds and the ensuite heads are all very generous. There is a large full beam master stateroom on the main deck and 4 guest staterooms below. The master has excellent storage spaces including a large walk-in closet and comfortable head with shower and tub.

The twin guest cabins both have Pullman beths allowing you to have up to 12 guests. Unlike many other vessels in this size range all the beds are full size and floor space in all cabins is excellent.

The twin queen cabins have spacious walk around on all sides. There is a separate dressing space that leads to the ensuite head with tub shower.

The large beam makes itself apparent in the large space of the main saloon and dining area. The main saloon features two designer couches that can be bent and shaped to form different seating areas depending on the owner’s wishes.

Andrea has true Explorer Yacht working areas on the interior. There is a very large galley that is fully equipped and, unlike many other vessels, she has excellent cold storage and huge amounts of dry storage for galley and ship’s general needs. This is a vessel you can truly equip for extended world cruising to exotic and remote areas.

The crew’s quarters are excellent and include a large Captain’s cabin behind the wheelhouse and room for up to 8 crew if some are couples. The normal operating staff is 6 crew.

The wheelhouse is very well equipped for long range offshore operation but still includes a lovely raised settee for owners and guests to relax and enjoy the passing scenery.

The boat deck/service area is spacious and you have the choice of carrying a large tender athwartships or fore-and-aft. One of the features I love is the area where the tenders and toys are located is NOT covered in teak, just the guest area is. This lets the crew take care of the tenders and not worry about the teak. There are two cranes so you can load from both sides and have redundance.

The engine room, the heart and soul of any Explorer Yacht, is everything you want in a true world cruising vessel and more. All the of the equipment is in very good condition. The main engines only have 13,000 hours on her Caterpillar 3508B 775 hp engines that run at 1200 RPM. The engines are fully serviced and have just had their top end overhaul with just approx. 1200 hours since completion. The gen sets were rebuilt on 01.11.2018.

When I asked the captain what needed to be done before he would be ready to do a trans-Atlantic crossing he replied “fuel up”. I asked him “really” and he replied “YUP”. He loves the boat!

There is a lot more I can go over about what makes this a truly great Explorer Yacht and would be happy to do so. Just contact me and we can discuss her in more detail.

I will leave you with this thought. Replacement cost for a new Delta like Andrea would be above US$30,000,000. She is asking approx. US$10,658,000 at the present exchange rate. You can purchase her for less than 30% replacement cost and get almost everything you would get in a new vessel!

Please contact me for more information and recent photos.

Warmest regards,
John DeCaro
